Continuous Neuromonitoring for the Thyroid – Advanced Course, Mainz, Germany

Annually, a certified course which focuses on thyroid surgery with continuous intraoperative neuromonitoring (cIONM) is hold by Prof. Dr. T. J. Musholt in Mainz. The additional usage of cIONM enables the periodic and high frequent electrophysiological observation of the vagal nerve, as well as its branch: the recurrent laryngeal nerve. At an early stage, distortion of the signal can be detected and the surgeon is notified. 

The course consists out of a theoretical part at the first day which covers everything around cIONM and at the second day a live operation.
